MY REFLECTION
You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it; that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
One can not abandon God's commandment and set a commandment of his/her own either by removing or adding to the commandment of God to suit him/herself and expect to meet God as the end point. If I set a commandment for myself even though I follow it with dedication and sincerity, it will only lead me to myself the giver of the commandment. Keeping God's commandment will lead to God. Any alterations will deviate from the track leading to God and take elsewhere.
He who gives the law knows what his expectations are.
God's Commands, an Expression of His Love
_...rejoice when the Father rebukes you, because it shows that He loves you..._
Dos and Don'ts are designed to protect us and not a restriction to our freedom as we today see them. They are the mirror through which offenders are justly condemned.
The Laws are supposed to keep us in God's saving presence, flaunting them will expose us to the roaring lion who seeks to devour us.
God's Laws indeed are just and fair otherwise other nations wouldn't be envious of their beauty and wish they had a god who would give them beautiful Laws as our God's.
However, it's not just about the beauty of the law nor the knowledge that matters....but the keeping and doing them.
The keeping and doing the laws is a way to telling God.... LORD, I LOVE YOU.....for the one who keeps the law is liken to a man who before a mirror takes a good look at himself, admires his beauty, then goes off and still remembers just how beautiful he looks.
Let's therefore through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the help of the Spirit, live by the Law.
God's Peace Be With Us All...Amen🙏
MY REFLECTION
"receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls"
One of the challenges I've come to discover about the scribes and Pharisees in the time of Jesus isn't that they failed to *hear* the words of Christ, it is rather the case that they failed to *listen.*
There is the quality of *intentionality* in listening which hearing does not possess. For me to receive the Word of God with meekness requires this _intentionality,_ a conscious desire to follow the word I have heard and carefully listened to. This calls to mind my attitude towards the word of God.
Am I open to God's word or do I choose what I want from the word of God and the teachings of the Church?
Lord, give me an openness and attentiveness to your Word that I may have a heart ready and willing to serve you. Amen!
E no easy but reason am
For what nation is there that has a God so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon Him?
Why do I love God ? He na sure Promise Keeper
E too faithful, merciful, loving
Abum Onye - Who am I?
Who are you?
Who are we?
That He continues to keep us even as we dey fall His hand on a regular
So why should I be afraid to choose to obey Him knowing I do not walk alone even if I see ONLY one footstep
GOD DEY GIDIGBA WITH US THROUGH IT ALL AS WE CHOOSE TO NOT ONLY BE HEARERS BUT DOERS OF HIS WORD
1. It's not an easy road
We are travelling to heaven,
For many are the thorns on the way;
It's not an easy road,
But the Saviour is with us,
His presence gives us joy every day.
No, no, it's not an easy road,
No, no, it's not an easy road;
But Jesus walks beside me
And brightens the journey,
And lightens every heavy load.
2. It's not an easy road
There are trials and troubles
And many are the dangers we meet;
But Jesus guards and keeps
So that nothing can harm us,
And smooths the rugged path for our feet.
No, no, it's not an easy road,
No, no, it's not an easy road;
But Jesus walks beside me
And brightens the journey,
And lightens every heavy load.
3. Though I am often footsore
And weary from travel,
Though I am often bowed down with care,
Well, a better day is coming
When home in the glory
We'll rest in perfect peace over there.
No, no, it's not an easy road,
No, no, it's not an easy road;
But Jesus walks beside me
And brightens the journey,
And lightens every heavy load
MY REFLECTION
In His image and likeness, God created us all. Therefore, we should try to live out the good deeds that He has bestowed in us.
Furthermore, we are called to be not just hearers of the word but to live it out through our deeds and actions. That way, we would have touched lives.
MY REFLECTION
Man need to obey God. To obey God no be to do wetin people go see for eye. Obedience to God de begin from di heart. Wen u use all ur heart do wetin God want, God go dey happy with you.
