REFLECTION
U fit say the rich man too like money but wait you and I nko ? Have we not allowed our foolish attachments to created things make us reject our Creator ? What is that thing so hard we cannot let go of to sincerely follow God with all our being?
My brethen, make we reason am ooo cos that thing wey you hold on to gidigba, God pass am and na God give you . Same God can also take it away. No make wetin dem create make you reject the One wey create all . Today God fi dey test you, no fall im hand because nothing worth going to hell for.
Being with God sweet , na im alone fit talk and do. Na im alone fit stand by you gidigba like rock as the water of life dey hit your boat. No fool yasef my beloved. Make the right choice today . Pesin wey hold God gidigba no dey loss, na confirmed truth I yarn una so. So make we know say it pays to serve God with all we have cos na im get am .

THE SECRET OF MAKING HEAVEN IS HIDDEN IN CHARITY.
Brethren,1 Peter chapter 4 verse 8 says,"Charity covers multitude of sins" and in this gospel of Mark 10 verse 21, Jesus said to the rich man, 'You Lack One Thing; therefore go,sell what you have, and give to the poor.'
Do you see how this man would have expressly make heaven but he did otherwise.As a Christian,as a Catholic, never you neglect or ignore the practice of Spiritual and Corporal works of mercy.
LESSON 2: WHAT DO I CHOSE OVER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN?
Prestige positions, Wealth, Privileges,My Wife, Husband,Children,Family members, Friends, abi my Phone? Children of God,these are the things God in his goodness has freely bestowed on us to make easy our journey to heaven.Therefore,unlike this rich man,let us not attach ourselves so much to these gifts to the extent allowing them distract or obstruct our journey to Eternal Life.
LESSON 3: SELL WHAT YOU HAVE.
Dear friends in Christ, I think there's need to apply this statement now, but positively,"Use what you Have and Get what you don't Have". Therefore,any of these, at the course of this journey to heaven, at a point,we feel it's worth selling or giving out,We shouldn't hesitate to do so,for it's better we do away with it and gain eternal life than to possess it and loose HEAVEN.Udo dírí Únú!

To be poor in the spirit is to detach ones heart from the material things of this world even though one posseses them.
It is possessing the things of this world but NOT letting them to possess you.
It is to be humble and meek, acknowledging God as the ultimate source of all one possess or will ever possess. It's acknowledging that without God one is nothing.
It's treasuring one's relationship with God more than any other thing in this world.
It's using the perishable things of this to gain what is imperishable, hence being poor in the spirit involves being generous or charitable with what God has blessed one with be it spiritual goods or material goods.
It is, not allowing what you have or are to enter your head.🤔

As a human and a Christian who believes in Jesus Christ and His teachings, We are expected to live a life of integrity, humility and uprightness.
Just as the second reading says, nothing is hidden from God. The Bible also made us understand that before He formed us in the womb and He knew us, before we were born He set us apart...... You can imagine yourself doing that thing that is not pleasing in the sight of God and claiming to be right... Remember, He knows your heart desires before you act or say it out. He is the potter and we are the work of His hands... Living a sincere and truthful life is worth loving and should not be compromised for earthly things...
Also, as humans it is our duty to help the poor around us not just physically poor but poor in spirit, those who have lost the interest in the things of God looking at the present Nigeria of today. Your neighbor whom you know has forgotten the things of God, those that only remember God when they are in need but find it difficult to make Him their best friend when they have and when they do not have.
We are to help call them back to knowing God in truth and in spirit and guild them without being judgemental. We are encouraged to help men build their spiritual life and follow God in truth and all sincerity. Seek God's grace to always do that which is right in His sight because He alone makes impossibility, possible.
Finally, when we carry out the work of God, let us try to always call on Him for divine wisdom, directions and Inspiration because He is the Almighty.

Teach us to number our days so that we may gain wisdom of heart.
Imagine you were told that your last day on earth will be on Christmas day? What would be your plan for Christmas? What would you be doing a few days before Christmas?
Would you be preparing your clothes and shoes or would you be preparing your soul?
Probably, you would prefer to be at the confessional till the D-day
But Christmas Day is not your last day; it could be long years after this Christmas. But wait: it could be tomorrow.
And that's the problem, no one knows.
So dear friends, let us prepare our soul, and if possible, let us live like those who already know the number of days left. I know we wouldn't want to bother ourselves with the number of days or years left for us. But I think we should bother ourselves with that.
I live in a Muslim-populated community. And few weeks ago, a Muslim went with other Muslims to bury their dead, only for him to be attacked and killed on his way back. In just a few hours, he was buried beside his friend.
No one, including him, saw it coming.
No one knows tomorrow. So the time to start preparing is NOW

Why do we have to number our days ?
How do we gain wisdom doing so?
As students prepare for exams, counting down days and studying diligently, we too must ready ourselves for life's ultimate test. Through preparation, we gain wisdom on what to embrace, what to avoid, and necessary sacrifices. Let us not be caught off guard, but rather, emulate the wise virgins who prepared extra oil for their lamps, ensuring a warm welcome for the bridegroom.
Christ, the ultimate exemplar, demonstrates perfect preparation. He prayed fervently, seeking the Father's will, and dedicated Himself to the point of sweating blood. His results are resounding, a triumphant victory. To excel similarly, let us follow Christ's lead wholeheartedly, relying on the Holy Spirit's guidance. By doing so, we will pass life's test with flying colors, just as Christ did.
