MY REFLECTION

As we hear in the stations of the cross, "If I must obey Pilate since it is my Father's will, would you not obey those I place in charge over you?"

The ultimate example Jesus had come to show us through his passion and death, is obedience in total submission to the will of God for us. As scripture says, "Since you know the will of God, do it."

It is alarming how we Christians are so religiously pious but never practice this piety outside of the confines of religious obligation. Jesus humbled himself and in obedience did the will of his father over his own will.

May the Lord grant us the grace to be able to do his will no matter what may. Amen.

MY REFLECTION

Passion Sunday is here again and we thank God.

What is it about?

A triumphant entry of Jesus to Jerusalem where all the passion will take place.

How did he go? On a donkey that was not even his own.

This was foretold by the prophets. Everything about Jesus was pre-ordained, and so are our lives too. Jesus made sure He followed God's ways throughout His lifetime, without complaints but with prayers and supplications. He could have done otherwise.

In Jesus' simplicity, the people hailed him and welcomed Him into Jerusalem, and from nowhere the song changed to crucify him, crucify him. Jesus did not change but cling to God, knowing that God will never abandon Him.
Like Jesus, we too must be humble and prayerful so that we will live according to what God has planned for us, knowing that God's ways are perfect and He will never abandon us.
