MY REFLECTION
Christ offers himself to us by means of the Logos (Word) and the Eucharist.
On the road to Emmaus, as he breaks the Word to them, their heart burned with a grasp of His teachings, also, they experienced the fullness of his self-revelation at the breaking of the Bread (Eucharist). And immediately they ran to bear witness.
This is a perfect representation of the Holy Mass: we come before Him who is both the Word and the Eucharist ( the liturgy of the Word and the liturgy of the Eucharist). We are opportune to meet God in the breaking of the Logos and even commune with him; that is, become one with him as we participate in the Eucharist. By doing so we are empowered with his teaching and he comes to be with us, walk with us and live in us.
As this happened the disciples became fearless that they traveled that night back to Jerusalem. Hence, our fear turns to strength to stand against all odds and bear witness of the only True God just as Peter and the early disciples as seen in the 1st and 2nd reading.
Beloved (you and I), we are the 2nd person on that road that Christ has spoken to. As we attend Mass on a daily or weekly basis, we walk the same way to Emmaus, we encounter Christ who reveals himself to us in the Word and in the Eucharist, we must, therefore, fearlessly bear witness to others, we must share the testimony of the risen Christ. Either by words or by action, let us bear witness and give testimonies that the whole world may come to know and believe in Christ.
Note: Encountering Christ leads to Courage and with Courage we go into Mission
Peace 🙏🏾

Luke 24:13-35 is one of my favourite accounts in the Bible. When it is read, I always feel for Him, after all He went through, pains, shame, beatings and death, these disciples were still confused and disappointed because of the stories of the resurrection. With love, as always Jesus took the time to interpret all the scriptures concerning Him to them.
The two disciples listened to Jesus and had compassion to invite Jesus in to stay with them, because the day was now far spent.
What about us?
Are you ready to invite Jesus to stay with you?
"Doing that, they recognised Him in the breaking of bread."
That is what the Eucharist does. The Eucharist is at the centre of the life of the church. It is the Sacrament of the body and blood of Christ and is one with the sacrifice of the cross. That is why we all should be attentive during the Holy Mass, because Jesus is at the centre of it all The readings prepare us for that encounter with the risen Lord in the Eucharist. Jesus is still visibly present in the church and continues to reveal Himself through the Eucharist.
We pray that the Lord will show us the path of life to recognise Him always at Mass and in all we do. Amen.

MY REFLECTION
Dear friends in Christ, the readings of tomorrow Calls us to know that the resurrection of Christ is Our cornerstone.
From the Acts of the Apostles in our first reading St Peters Pentecost sermon brings to light the life, death, and resurrection our Lord Jesus Christ as fulfilled in God's plan. It reminds us that Jesus Christ though crucified, was brought back to Life by God, which for me stands as the Cornerstone of our Faith.
That is why the Psalmist encourages us to trust in God, who will always show us the path of life to follow. It is also a prayer of hope in God's presence and deliverance.
As christians most importantly as Catholics we are always encouraged to live holy lives, remembering Christ's Redemption for each and everyone of us. We are always called to reflect on God's holiness in our everyday life and activities and to make sure that it's rooted in the sacrifice of Jesus.
Finally brethren, in the breaking of bread, Jesus Christ revealed himself, for me it reminds us to recognize Christ in our daily activities and how He helps us to transform our journey.
May God bless his words in our hearts through Christ our Lord. Amen.

MY REFLECTION
Personal Encounter
The 2 disciples encountered Jesus Christ during the breaking of bread, their strength were renewed and fear gone.
The Eucharist is a pointer to the presence of Jesus Christ is the church.
During consecration time, the presence of God is fully manifest to us, It's a time that matters most. Giving Reverence and Adoration and Thanksgiving to God.
But majority of us do the abominable during the period of the breaking of bread ( Consecration time). Many of us are always distracted by one thing or the other. You see the youths pressing their phones, answering of phone calls, the elderly gossiping. Most of us are not focused during this time.
The gospel reading has reminded us again, that we can actually encounter Jesus Christ during the breaking of bread, through the power of His Spirit. There we receive healing and deliverance. Let us take this very seriously.
May the Holy Spirit open our eyes to see, our minds to think and empower us to do the will of God in all things, in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
